Heat

So here we are on the hottest day in history, or so we are told, though we have a mere 34 degrees in West Berks. No doubt all the loonies like Trump and Lawson will still be denying climate change, even though Belgium, Netherlands and France have all announced their hottest day since records began.
We just experienced, not the predicted thunderstorms, but delightfully warm rain, so warm that it felt like having a modestly warm shower.
We have all our cottage windows closed and heavily curtained to keep out the heat and our 17th  home has kept us very tolerably cool, despite being built long before household insulation came along.  Those builders knew what they were doing back then!
The garden has survived the heat brilliantly too thanks to massive watering yesterday evening by my wife.
